We are excited to announce that the new Peugeot 4008 has been unveiled. Judging on first impressions with the overall styling, it will be a very striking car. It will be an addition to the Peugeot SUV range that consists of the Peugeot 3008 and Peugeot 4007. The styling direction is a new bold look that is both attractive and aggressive, while still maintaining an elegance Peugeot has always been renowned for. The off-road character of the Peugeot 4008 is emphasised with a vertical grille design, the inclusion of body sill protectors, and prominent wheel arch protection trims to accommodate the great looking 18-inch wheels. The Peugeot 4008 will be provided by two petrol engines and two turbo diesel engines. The petrol engines consist of a 1.6 litre four-cylinder engine, with 85kW and 152Nm of torque, backed by a 5 speed manual. A 2.0 litre petrol engine, with 113kW and 198Nm of torque will top the petrol engine range. A CVT Automatic transmission or 5 speed manual will be available with this engine. Turbo diesel power kicks off with a 1.6 litre HDi FAP engine producing 82kW and 270Nm of torque (280Nm with the overboost function). This is backed by a six-speed manual transmission. Finally the 1.8 litre HDi FAP turbo diesel top the range with 110kW power and 300Nm of torque, also with a six-speed manual transmission. In four-wheel-drive versions the driver can select three transmission modes: 2WD, 4WD and LOCK locking on four-wheel-drive. In both four-wheel-drive modes the distribution of the torque between the front and the rear is managed electronically. In LOCK mode the four-wheel drive transmission becomes permanent, with even greater distribution of torque to the rear wheels. With its distinctive style, the Peugeot 4008 is a great alternative to those looking for a stylish and distinct compact SUV. Its strong list of features and equipment such as: the Open & Go system, 18" alloy wheels, touch screen navigation and reverse camera - are a clear indication that the Peugeot 4008 is the complete package.
Australia is one of the first markets the Peugeot 4008 will be released in, which should be sometime in the second quarter of 2012. More information will be released as it comes to hand. |
